Haiku City

Familiar city
meanwhile strange city too
cradle of growth

street in European style
compare to chaos city
tranquil and peaceful

beautiful sunshine
make shadow by myself
vague, who I am

lush tree standing
supporting humans' life
bring oxygen

the Huangpu River
merge into endless sea
flow continually

street, sun, tree, water
represent city partially
witness its change

  1. Dear Footprint of Water! I see you have been having fun writing haiku! You surprised me with your productivity and craft. It strikes me that in the first three haiku, you have contrasting imagery in the first and second lines:

    1: familiar/strange
    2: European style/chaos
    3. sunshine/shadow

That is very interesting! Was that intentional?

I also like the act of "witnessing." That change is being observed by nature and at the same time the Huangpu River and Sea are endless and flow continually....again the juxtaposition of eternal with ephemeral.

    NICE!
